Highlights of the deciding match between Warrick (NTU) and Nicholas (SMU)
With NTU and SMU both tied at 2-2, the deciding match fell to Warrick (NTU) and Nicholas (SMU), two players who proudly wore the colors of their school and their hearts on their sleeves. The sheer effort and determination that both outstanding individuals displayed was admirable and truly deserves a page in the SUNIG history books. But like all competitive matches, there had to be a victor. As the match stretched past the 1.5 hour mark, both players were physically and mentally exhausted as they fought for every point. Digging deep, Nicholas played some excellent tennis and soon found himself with a match point on serve that he duly converted. Despite the intense competition, both outstanding individuals demonstrated the true spirit of competition and sportsmanship, cemented with a warm handshake after the match.
We managed to catch up with both Warrick and Nicholas recently, more than one and a half months after their meeting for an exclusive interview.
