The Singapore Senior National team will depart for Johor Bahru, Malaysia on Thursday evening to defend the Stan Nagaiah Trophy. The 2011 edition of the Stan Nagaiah Trophy will be hosted by the Johor Cricket Academy, Johor from 9th to the 11th of September.

The Singapore team for the tournament was picked up by the National Selection Panel comprising of Mahmood Gaznavi, Chandran Nantha Kumar and David Jones. The Singapore team captained by Saad Khan Janjua has plenty of talent and is looking forward to successfully defending the title this year. The Stan Nagaiah Trophy is an annual series of three 50 over games played between Singapore and Malaysia for the past 17 years.

The Stan Nagaiah Trophy is the first step in the preparations of the National Team towards Singapore’s campaign in the ICC World Cricket League Division 5, which will be hosted in Singapore in February 2012 by the Singapore Cricket Association.
