Day 2 Highlights

Singapore Polytechnic (SP) women’s team established themselves firmly as favourites for the inaugural POLITE Tchoukball championships yesterday evening.

Having defeated the Combined ITE and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) 27-20 and 32-28 respectively, they currently sit comfortably on top of the women’s division standings with a maximum of six points.

The combined ITE women’s team were not as fortunate as they went down 34-18 to TP, bringing their tally to two losses in two games.

The title-race for the Men’s division is turning out to be a three-horse race with Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) tied on top with four points each.

SP had a mixed night securing a 39-34 win over the Combined ITE (ITE) team before unfortunately succumbing 43-27 to a resilient TP team.

TP scored their second win of the tournament with an impressive high-scoring 49-43 victory over their ITE counterparts.

With the title race for both divisions proving to be a very tight affair, the final day of the Tchoukball championships will prove to be a feisty one as both titles will be decided only after the final round of fixtures.
