Sometime in the last couple of weeks, we gave you a rundown of who we thought would be the names to lookout for during this year’s Li-Ning Singapore Open, held at the Indoor Stadium. Just how accurate were we?
We predicted that Lee Chong Wei, the world’s top shuttler would be the man to watch as he missed out on the crown last year. Can’t really say we’re wrong here but he pulled out of the tournament and I guess that’s that. In addition, we cited that Sony Kuncoro, the dark horse might come back and defend his crown but was dispatched yesterday by Bao Chunlai of China, ironically, the seventh seed of this year’s tournament.
I guess that leaves us with Lin Dan, Boonsak Ponsana and Peter Gade. Lets see what happens as the tournament unravels. Not to mention the enigmatic Taufik Hidayat, the now top seed in the tournament.
